Coastal Georgia Reads

 

The book selection for the 2024 Coastal Georgia Reads is L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Since it was first published in 1900, the book has become one of the best-known stories in American literature. The Library of Congress has even declared the it to be "America's greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale." 

Free copies of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz are available to the public at the Brunswick Library and the St. Simons Library. Additional copies are available at the Historic Ritz Theater in Downtown Brunswick. The libraries are presenting several events as part of the community read celebration.
