MOGL Book Fund
The Marshes of Glynn Libraries Book Fund is an effort led by our Board of Trustees to secure donations for the purchase of library books and periodicals.
The libraries depend upon donations and other fundraising efforts because government funding provides 30% or less of the typical amount necessary to make adequate purchases for our collections each year. Government funding is almost exclusively through the State Materials Grant.
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed a significant strain upon the typical methods used by our libraries to raise private funds for book purchases – the book sales conducted by the Friends of the Brunswick-Glynn County Library and the Literary Guild of St. Simons.
In order to supplement these fundraising efforts, the MOGL Board of Trustees solicits donations to the MOGL Book Fund. Gifts in multiples of $35 are ideal, but gifts of any amount will be greatly appreciated, as will multi-year gifts. The gift levels for new books are:
- 1 book – $35;
- 2 books – $70;
- 5 books – $175;
- 10 books – $350;
- 20 books – $700;
- 30 books – $1,005;
- 40 books – $1,400; and
- 50 books – $1,750.
Gifts will be used only for the purchase of library-quality books and periodicals.
Should you wish to assist MOGL in the maintenance and expansion of its book and periodical collections, you may do so by completing our donation form and returning it by mail with your check.
