Final push of the Brunswick Library Renovation
February 5, 2019
Construction is coming to an end for the Brunswick Library Renovation this month. In March 2019, the project will transition into the finishing stages.
During this transition, the Brunswick Library will temporarily close to the public starting on Monday, March 4 to begin installing the refinished shelving and furniture. After installation, library staff will move the collection back onto the shelves and make the final preparations to reopen to the public.
It is anticipated that the library will reopen with regular hours and services at the end of March or beginning of April. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 5 during First Friday in Downtown Brunswick. Additional details about the grand opening will follow at a later date.
While the Brunswick Library is closed, patrons will not be able to pick up holds or return checked out materials to the facility. Overdue fines will not accrue for Brunswick patrons during the closure. The St. Simons Island Library will be fully operational. At any time, patrons may check the status of their library account and renew items online.
Turning The Page, a giving campaign for the Brunswick Library Renovation, is still underway. Donations will allow the library to acquire needed additional literacy, educational, and technological assets. If you are interested in donating, please contact Geri Mullis, the Marshes of Glynn Libraries Director, at 912-279-3734 or firstname.lastname@example.org, for more details.
