Brunswick Library Reopening December 10
The Brunswick Library Renovation has been going full steam ahead. The project is on schedule, and the next phase is to open a section of the facility to the public on December 10. When reopen, patrons may enter the library from the front porch on Gloucester Street. A temporary wall has been built to route patrons into the Children’s Room, where a temporary library has been set up until the full renovation is complete in spring 2019.
Due to the restricted space, there will be limited library services and hours available. The library will have laptops and printing, popular books for check-out, and audiobooks for check-out. The majority of the collection is still being stored, including the DVD collection, and will not be available until the renovation is complete. The library will also have limited hours, and will only be open Mondays – Fridays from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
Preschool Storytime, Baby Storytime, and Lunchtime Yoga will still be held offsite in the Recreation Center at Howard Coffin Park. All book clubs will meet at the St. Simons Island Library. The Pop-up Library will continue to “pop up” around Glynn County. Please visit the Marshes of Glynn Libraries website for a complete listing of programs and events at www.moglibraries.org.
As a reminder, during the entire renovation the St. Simons Island Library will be fully operational. And at any time, patrons may check the status of their library account and renew items online.
Turning The Page, a giving campaign for the Brunswick Library Renovation, is still underway. Donations will allow the library to acquire needed additional literacy, educational, and technological assets. If you are interested in donating, please contact Geri Mullis, the Marshes of Glynn Libraries Director, at 912-279-3734 or email@example.com, for more details.
