From January 1st to January 31st, Marshes of Glynn Libraries will participate in the inaugural nationwide Winter Reading Challenge. We challenge our patrons to read at least 10 hours during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at http://moglibraries.beanstack.org. Over 100 libraries and schools across the nation will encourage their communities to read a target number of minutes and books. If we reach the nationwide goal, “Shark Tank” investor Mark Cuban will donate $35,000 to the organization “First Book,” which provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to children in need.
Kate Moore is a local art photographer. She began taking pictures as a teen and the art form has become her passion. Her show is composed of nature photos, landscapes and macro photography. Drop by the Brunswick-Glynn County Library during the month of January to enjoy her view of the world.
Toddlers and young children are invited to join the fun Tuesday morning at Saint Simons Island Public Library. They are sure to delight in listening to stories and singing songs with their library friends.
Do you need a cure for the workday blues or just feel the need to stretch and take a deep breath? If so the library might have the cure for you. “Lunchtime Yoga” is perfect for the beginner or for those who are on their lunch hour (no sweating required).
